The Information We Collect

When you visit Archon, you provide us with two types of information: personal information you knowingly choose to disclose that is collected by us and Web Site use information collected by us as you interact with our Web Site.

When you register with Archon, you provide us with certain personal information, such as your name, your email address, your telephone number, your address, and additional information about your home, or about your customers and their homes, including but not limited to address, phone number, and photos and information relating to the energy efficiency of the home, as well as any other personal or preference information that you provide to us.

When you enter the Website, we may collect your browser type and IP address. This information is gathered for all Archon visitors. In addition, we store certain information from your browser using “cookies.” A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s computer tied to information about the user. We use session ID cookies to confirm that users are logged in. These cookies terminate once the user closes the browser. By default, we use a persistent cookie that stores your login ID (but not your password) to make it easier for you to login when you come back to Archon. You can remove or block this cookie using the settings in your browser if you want to disable this convenience feature.

Children Under 18

The Website and its Services are not available to children under the age of 18, and Archon does not collect information about children under the age of 18.

Use And Sharing Of Information Obtained by Archon

When you register with Archon, you create your own profile and privacy settings, as well as information about yourself and your home, or about your customers and their homes, to obtain Archon’s inspection, certification, and home energy score services.  This information is shared with the California Energy Commission and agencies authorized by it to assist in the issuance of home certifications and permits provided as part of the Services. These agencies may include:

You consent to the disclosure of this information by Archon to these agencies for the purpose of providing the services. Archon also shares information provided by you to any installing contractors retained to perform an installation at the home related to the services provided by Archon.

Archon reserves the right to forward home information relating to an inspection or permit to the Department of Energy, California Energy Commission, and agencies disclosed for the purpose of obtaining a Home Energy Score, title 24 certification documents, and rebate document processing.

Except as specifically provided in this section, Archon does not share or disclose your private or personal information to any other person or party for any purpose.

Archon may contain links to other websites. We are of course not responsible for the privacy practices of other web sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by Archon.

Changing or Removing Information

Access and control over most personal information on Archon is readily available through the profile editing tools. Archon users may modify or remove any of their profile information at any time by logging into their account. Information will be updated immediately. Individuals who wish to deactivate their Archon account may do so on the My Account page. Removed information may persist in backup copies for a reasonable period but will not be generally available to members of Archon.

Where you make use of the communication features of the service to share information with other individuals on Archon, however, (e.g., posting in team forums) you generally cannot remove such communications.

Security

Archon takes appropriate precautions to protect our users’ information. Your account information is located on a secured server behind a firewall. We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input. We reveal only the last five digits of your credit card numbers when confirming an order. Of course, we transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card processor using authorize.net and information is stored in a customer profile on their servers. All credit card relevant information from the end-user is not stored directly on our servers. It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.
